The Story Teller

He did not pen the stories,

Yet inspired those who did.

Though darkness veiled his own eyes,

He lit the minds of many.

Absent from the written pages,

His voice still lived between the lines.

He had not seen his listeners’ faces,

Nor the wonder in their eyes,

Yet he had seen their hearts awaken

At the sound of every tale.

For what he could not behold with sight,

He carried deeply within his soul.

He had not seen the faces,

Yet brightened all who saw his.

A gentle smile became their comfort,

A steadfast voice became their light.

And long after the stories ended,

His warmth remained within them.
