Nobody Saw the Fear

I froze

and the world called it weakness

As if fear is supposed to arrive beautifully

with enough courage left

to defend yourself properly

But terror does not give you time

to think clearly.

It shakes, forgets language.

It turns the body into something small,

trying only to survive the moment.

People speak of bravery

like it must always live in raised voices,

like survival only matters

when it leaves behind bruised fists

instead of tremblina hands.

But what about silent survival?

What about the people

who stayed alive through fear

through freezing

through nights haunted by unkind hands

that never fullv |eave them?

Nobody saw how hard

that heart was trying

to stay together

Nobody heard

the panic hidden beneath that silence

And sometimes I still wonder

why loud courage is praised

but surviving softly never feels

enough for the world
